Unfortunately the rebuild of the KLR650 isn't going to smooth as planned. I hope to post some good news in the future because Paul Ritzen is also tuning my uncle his KLR650. There are a lot of options but he's trying to make the best of it without going drastic like changing the valve angles. A set of faster drop-in cams is going to be used as well as other valves to increase the compression. A stock KLR has a compression of 9.1 and we hope to increase it to 10 by taking of some material of the cylinder if possible and the use of a thinner base gasket. It's to bad that there isn't a high compression piston for the KLR650.... |
